ice cream and chips - Torquay, 28th August 2021

On Sunday the 29th August the iconic Cowes - Torquay race will be taking place.

Those of us involved will be in town (Torquay) all weekend so it seems sensible to have a run to collect some of Dorset's finest ice cream.

We will leave the Town Quay at 11.30 on Saturday the 28th, heading East towards Lyme Regis.

It's a good distance at around 25nm so we'll take a couple of stops on route for flask action.

Once in Lyme an ice cream or fish and chips is to be had (both are superb) before we head back for a large gin on the quay at Brixham.

For those around on the Friday afternoon a pasty at Salcombe sounds good too along with fish and chips at Dartmouth post race on the 29th

Looks like this will either become a late afternoon run for me or I'll leave it to others to enjoy.

Boat racing times for the OCRDA event have changed and they'll be racing Saturday late morning too.

But does mean I'm free the Friday to play too

I'm down from Fri 20th into 1st week in Sept.
Up for a run or 2, even afternoon into evening in the right conditions.

I'm aiming to lap the IoW sometime the first week of Sept, weather permitting. Shame won't quite be around on the 28th.
