Do we have to become members of BIBOA before we come on the cruises?

Yes, I am afraid you do (insurance, officers liability etc).

The few cruises that I organise on behalf of BIBOA are but a small percentage of the events that they put on every year.

Joining costs, if you feel costs are the issue, are as laid out on the www.biboa.com website, (I think I pay £45 per year) but all the events are free of charge for participants.
This is a bargain if you compare to those cruises run by other organisations, some of which charge hundreds of pounds per event.
That said, every BIBOA member is most welcome on any of our cruises.
I will even buy you a beer if you turn up!

Either the Scillies Tourist Information got their facts wrong ( or I didn't make myself clear ) but there is still room in the Hotels albeit pricey. We're fixed up now thanks to the scillyonline website.

Cheers Brian.

Well done Bern.
But please enter your details onto the BIBOA website so I get an "automessage" with your details. I will then add them to the list of "Runners and Riders" and you will be an official attendee and qualify for at least one beer from me !

PS The Scillies Cruise now has boats from Myself, Mike Garside,Daniel, Mark Wildey, Bern and Andy Micklewright is making his arrangements as we speak.

Just to warn everyone wanting to come on the BIBOA South West Cruise out of Plymouth on the 12/13th June.
The Invicta Hotel is now filling up fast.
Anybody considering same, who wants to stay with us at the Invicta, is advised to book soon.

Full details:
http://www.biboa.com/
and look under Cruising, and then, the cruise of your choice.

For info: I've just booked the last two rooms in the Invicta for 12/13th June. Looking forward to it already.

Penzance B&B

Can anyone make a personal recommendation of any B&Bs in Penzance , for one night stop-overs either side of the Scillies Cruise ? I've found some phone numbers but there's no substitute for previous experience !

Thanks in anticipation

I would be interested to know where you can more up overnight in Penzance.
Newlyn is a no-no.

Brian , I'd imagined that we would launch immediately prior to departure and recover immediately on return with no mooring up as such. Does that sound impractical ?

That sounds perfect Bern.
I estimate, at the moment, that the rest of the fleet wont get to The Lizard till about 12.00-13.00 on the way down and probably ditto on the way back.
Too early to finalise detail yet, but from what you say, I expect we will meet up with you either at The Lizard, or off Wolf Rock.

I misread your post and assumed you were mooring at Penzance on another occasion.

Just in case anybody has tried to get accomodation at the Invicta Plymouth and failed..... I have just had to cancel the room I had booked for Saturday night 12th June. I wont be able to make it this weekend unfortunately.

Hope its a great weekend for all that do manage to be there.
