The World Stone Skimming Champioships will once again be held at Easdale Island on 26th September 2010. Easdale is 16 miles south of Oban. Easdale iwas a major slate quarrying area in the 1800's. There are 7 old quarries on the island some were dug to a depth of 80+m. Easdale and its quarrying featured on a recent BBC2 Coast programme.

This is an ideal event to combine with some superb West Coast of Scotland Cruising.
For those coming by RIB there is plenty of safe mooring within the harbour. Overspill can tie up to the Seafari pontoon as some of their boats will be ashore by this time.
