Polish Boat Show "Water & Wind" August 2012

The major Polish Boat show takes place twice a year and the second part is on the water for 4 days in August at Gdynia Marina. With immediate acccess to the Bay of Gdansk this exhibition does attract a lot of attention from not only Polish boatbuilders but also from many from overseas. The Polish boat building is a fast growing industry and no doubt a force to be reckoned with.

It has been a few years since I attended this show and this year I was fortunate that the sea trials of the contacted with our UK company the two Parker 1000 Baltic ribs for Martime Security for an overseas client took place during the week of the show.

The weather was great so I had a geat week of ribbing without having to think about putting on a dry suit, Gecko helmet or even all weather gear. One can get used to a cabin rib especially to one with air conditioning.

I have posted a few photos and as you can see the weather conditions were great. I specially enjoyed my solo run from Wladyslawowo along the Hel pennisula to Hel then a right turn to Gdynia. There was a morning mist along the shoreline but with the Simrad Broadband Radar on board I had no problems in navigating along the coast. Passing the tip of Hel and looking behind I was stunned by the fantastic sunrise and could not resist taking some photos. I am sure you will agree a sight not to be missed.

the Blue Parker 800 Baltic is fitted out with the very latest Mercury 150 EFI 4 stroke engines. A fantastic pair of engines for that size rib and come with the Smartcraft engine management system. I suppose the next step will be to have the DTS throttle levers. This was something I missed.

Hi Andre, cool pictures and thanks for sharing. That 800 Baltic looks well in the blue. My personal choice would still be the black or grey though

there is a bench seat behind each Cobra seat a removable table. The air/con unit , batteries are in the bench seat on starboard side and in the port side one is a sink unit and the window viper wash. The fresh water tank is below the deck in the bow area.
In the third photo in the cabin corner you can just about see the vent for the air/con blower
