Amazing rib at Dusseldorf boat show
This rib made by DSG/Ficht in Germany is used by the firemen to rescue people living along the (frozen) lakes: where a boat or a snowmobile can not go, this rib always will ...

The FIB is still available from LOMAC and currently sold in Belgium. It costs around 16000 with the Rotax 503 engine, 18000 with the Rotax 582.
( yes, I am also an ultralight pilot ! )

Call me stupid (and people often do) but...
If the lake is frozen, how does the rib get along? Does it slide over the ice?

Be patient, two days ago I got in touch with the manufacturer who is about to send me an information CD-ROM. We'll probably have more pics, maybe a movie. Stay connected ...

Here are some more pics I have received from Ficht (Germany). From the loooooooooong movie also supplied on the cd, one can see that that boat actually is no rib but a simple inflatable with an alloy skid plate ( all flat ! ). For fresh water only !
