As I have told Kerny, Hadd and the boys you all would better to come up for ERR in May and either do the week after or the one before based at Easdale. You can't beat it for everything.

Ahh! but am I wrong Had many a good spring bank in Oban over the years. Usually when they've been having cr4p darn sarf. The west coast seems to get the first of the spring Atlantic highs.

It's the same here across the Pond - May and June are the two settled months. I've visited the west of Scotland in early May quite a few times and overall, the weather has been excellent - cool, clear and dry.

And no Mudges

As I have said before come to the ERR and enjoy boating in company with a good social side over the wend. Can't best it!

Advice from the locals - can you still get some cracking days then or will the weather have closed in for the winter?
You can get cracking days any time of year (I've had amazing days when I had to clear the snow off the slipway to launch!) but unfortunately as this "Summer" has shown in Scotland even when it should be good weather it can be dreadful (although the very far NW had some great weather)!

As others have said May/June can usually be best weather - but if you have appropriate clothing and aren't allergic to rain you should be able to get some fun in October. You are unlikely to get much shorts and t-shirt / bikini weather though.
