The tacho loom is dead easy to make. You need to join the colours up - green from the box is the tacho pulse, yellow is 12v and black is neg. The tacho if it is Yamaha will have the same colour coding. To do a proper job you can get the sealed Yamaha type crimped bullets on eBay etc.

tacho wiring

thanks for that

the tacho is a Yamaha analogue which also has the warning lamps built in

Im know about the colour coding as you mention above, but there seems to be a square 4 position connector coming of the warning lamps as well

this has green yellow and red coming from it with a common black for ground

any idea where these would connect

thanks

extra wires

Think I have found them

looks like its for the oil pressure and overheat circuit, but may need another loom with relay for them to work

My tacho is 6Y5-83540-05-00

I also have the gauge with just these lights on as well but think I just wont bother with them at all.

Also have the speedo, but my simrad is more than adequate for that function

many thanks
