20HP Longshaft Yam 2 Stroke w. Remotes

As per the discussion about upgrading my outboard - the old one is up-for-sale:

This engine was bought by me in 2005 and is a 20HP Yamaha Two stroke - Long Shaft with remotes. It’s been used on the back of a 3.9m boat for that time and probably has 200 hrs ish use. She’s mostly been serviced by me (it’s about as simple an engine as you can get) but last year the tilt/steering tube was replaced and it was serviced by a local outboard specialist at the same time. The battery cables were replaced then too.

It is electric start, but has a pull start option fitted, making it the ideal option, providing both the ease of turn key starting and the reliability of a pull start. Similarly the choke is controlled by the key, but it can be manually operated on the front of the engine.

She has served me well by a growing family means I want to upgrade and it’s replacement will be fitted w/c 8th April. It will be possible for me to get video of it running or for you to arrange to see it running before then. Currently she is at the back of a dark shed where it spends the winter but I can get better pictures if that helps.

The remotes will be included in the sale but you’ll want new cables to suit the size of your boat.

Whilst it is two stroke this model includes an oil tank which means there is no mixing or measuring required - Yamaha take care of that for you!

The 20HP shared the same design as the 25HP - if you feel like upgrading it you need to replace the exhaust manifold and carbs.

I have a spare prop with some minor damage I will include.

Obviously it would be easier to sell it in person - but I will consider couriering it at your expense in the UK. The cost will include the cost of a palette etc.

The simplicity and low weight (48 kg) of this engine makes it highly desirable. It is fairly unusual to see the long shaft remote version so grab it while you can.

I didn't really mean to post it on ebay as an auction (I was going to list it as a "best offer ad") but I use it so infrequently that I somehow followed their recommendations - hence the weird number for the starting price etc!
