We found it a bit bumpy from Cowes to Calshot in the dark,but Tim fell asleep

Thank you all for a great day.
Ryde back to calshot took up about 3 times longer than usual, very steep cresting waves right on the nose all the way back. I can safely say we didnt stuff it all day but we did come very close once or twice

Great day out, good company, lots of ribs and smiley people.

Weather was fine for me but I did not have any passengers to look after so just had loads of fun whilst spitting out the spray...

Off Southsea we had 3-4ft about 20-25ft apart. I was very glad to have a higher bow than yours, even in that. The boat took it much better than the driver did.

As it was HW we decided to take the short route via the Looe Channel and that is where we encounted the worst conditions. I would say that the waves were more or less 6-8 feet high. A funny feeling when you are on the top of a wave and it is still rising. You get the feeling that you are not moving forward at all until you look at the land and see that you are moving and then sudden acceleration and down you go.
as for the laughing well we all had a good laugh at the end and we are all nice blokes

Like Andre said, they were 6-8 ft high. They were steep as well, and closely spaced so that as soon as we were heading downhill it was time to go back up again!

It was only for a few hundred metres in the tide race that it was this bad (or good?) so it was no big deal to get through. Very glad not to have been going into the wind though which would have been much less fun.

Out of curiosity I had a look at the archive data on Chimet which is only a few miles away, and was a bit surprised to see that the wind was 25-30 knots which is the top end of a force 6

My sister and I had loads of fun yesterday even if Kohaku didn't! Those nasty "little" waves caused use quite a few problems on the way to Ryde and has now made my mind up to install a deck mounted bilge pump. Doug (Myndit) didn't have any problems with the chop!!

Nice to see everyone and would have liked to have met with JK. Whiteshoes and family in all their Pirate gear was spot on.

Just leaves me to show a couple of pic's.

Richard and I had a fabulous day on Sunday - thank you all for making it happen. It was great to meet up with people who have just been 'names' 'til now and, of course, to see old friends again. We're glad you all seem to have had a good day and got home safely (if a bit wet!). We much appreciated the helpful calls, voicemails, texts, PMs and posts which let us know that people had returned safely.

Thank you for entering into the spirit of the day with costumes, flags, 'weapons', etc. 'Best dressed pirate' award will be announced in a few days, along with the overall Treasure Hunt winners and a few other awards. I'd like (again) to thank Peter J and MeMe who both donated prizes but were not able to join in the fun. Peter J and crew - thanks for trying to get to us! Looking forward to meeting soon.

We were also pleased to meet up with forum members who could not join in the Treasure Hunt but came to say hello - Tim Griffin, Jonny Fuller, Ray Bradman, Andy 'Hightower'.

Finally, a reminder to those who have not yet handed in their Treasure Hunt answers - I'll be sending out a PM shortly with the address to send them to!
