best pitch for my DT65 and SR4.7 was 14" (stainless).
16" inch was ok for normal cruising without too much load.

be careful about thin nylon ropes... they stretch...

be careful about thin nylon ropes... they stretch and it hurts and burns when it breaks. I would not tow a 5 meter rib with anything less than 12-14 mm unless the sea is flat.

I spend a lot of time doing that console/engine project. It was fun and cost a lot of money, but i also learned a lot. I also would have done a few things differently, if i were to start over agian.

i agree... what's the point of having a safety...

i agree... what's the point of having a safety mechanism which is weaker than rest of the tube. However i do a intermediate pump before final pressure.

i got 35-36 knots with my old DT65 Suzuki (16' @5800 rpm).

I get 31-33 knots @ 5200 rpm with a 90 HP E-Tec on my SR4.7 (15" alu prop).
Inititally i tried a 17" alu prop but it only gave me 4900 rpm wot.
33 knots is fast enough for me on...

i just put a 90 HP ETEC on my SR4.7. It weighs 145 KG. I'm very happy about it.

However i did consider it for a long time, and ended up simulating it by adding the extra weight on my a-frame....
