Had a similar issue with our honda 90. Turned out because it hadn't been used the impeller had lost it spring. Might b worth checking.

Our BF90 doesn't pass any water from the flush port. It goes to a check valve so should seal closed under normal operation and only open when mains pressure water connected to the port.
