Engine height
Got mine on a manual jack plate , my merc 50 has a long water pickup , so got engine nice and high so cav plate is inch or so higher than bottom of transom

How about using a manual jack plate , set at the height you need , boat would have a good centre of gravity too , was thinking of using one on mine
