Look what we caught up and stopped for speeding in the Solent on Monday!!!

To say we caught it is true, but I suspect that they were only on tickover whereas we were going full speed!

Cheers

Mark

marshalls

not sure there was any security benefit in terms of stopping another USS Cole incident - the boys in green would / should have dealt with that threat, but from our point of view running charter trips on the day, the marshalls being there had huge safety benefits....the event seemed to pass incident free so I cant see how the terrorists could be seen to have won..

Nice one Mark and he was on official duty as well, so he should have known about the speed limits. Mind you, as you say, tick over with twin 18 litre Cat power is probably in excess of 10 knts...

Cheers.

Nope, it was after that. We hadn't actually left when I came out of the lightship to say hi to you. The saily boat was to the north of Ryde, at the northern edge of the southern spectator zone (if that makes sense!)

Fairy Nuff, but surely it might have been within your scope to notice a problem, and mosy over to find out what was going on before disappearing? I am fully aware that the marshalls were not there as a rescue service, it simply seemed that the 2 marshall boats close to us looked at what they could tell was a problem, and then immediately scarpered so they couldn't be asked for help/advice.
