If there's no pontoon adjacent to the slipway then a second person is needed to either hold the boat after launching or park the tow vehicle & trailer, otherwise, I always launch & recover single-handed. Most blokes I know do the same.

have'nt got that luxury of a pontoon where i launch,so someone or myself has to hold the boat while the other person parks. To do it by myself i would have to drop an anchor or two.

Jumping back to the hull thing the Avon 4.7 is a fantastic hull, but are a bit like the proverbial hen's teeth to find second hand.

The Humbers are also very seaworthy hulls. Can't say I've had much experience of the Destroyer (plenty on here have) but mine is the prequel to the O-Pro 2m Beam / 5m. It goes in a garage, easily towed by a saloon car, and runs nicely with a 60 (was originally sold with a 40!). I canlt fault the ride otr Handling, gives a very dry ride for a smaller hull. I can also launch & recover it single handed. Granted I don't carry 4 divers+gear, so for the extra load a few more gee gees would probably be a good idea!

Other thing to watch- if you are storing it in a garage with a single door, unless you have a bespoke (i.e. wider than normal) door, your shortlist instantly becomes a lot shorter. There is a post on here somewhere where someone was asking the same question. I pasted a table (from my research) so if you do an advanced search for "Garage door + beam" & filter it for me you should find it!

So that would be the case irrespective of the size of the RIB?
