there is only the hawes pier the rest of the slips on the forth don't have full tidal range I will be there to help you out if you need it I bought a cheap pair of waders especially for the hawes pier

Phoned Port Edgar yesterday. Was told there is someone "on call" to take slipping fees and their number is posted at the marina. No mention of any issues.

The only other decent slip I know of is at Granton.

Like Dubrus it's years since I've had to use a rope to launch so I'll be looking for a way of avoiding that.
