Looking at the photo of this morning I think Finn may have gone with team 1 today as I'm sure it was just Black Hawk and Blue Ray in group two???

On my Round Britain list was:

Dolphins
Seals
A Whale
Irish Guinness
Wind Farm
The Forts near the Thames Estuary...

And so far we had experienced:

Dolphins
Seals
Irish Guinness

I hadn't had time to research whales or if it was a possibility of seeing one but I did hear that one of the teams from Round Ireland 2013 saw a humpback??? My best guess was if we were to see one it would be up north near Scotland and it would have been a real long shot but I just cant help but imagine of what that experience must be like... You lot can stop laughing now

But as for the wind farms, this is the East Coast, so there's one just over there

I always wanted to be in a RIB just underneath one and get that perfect picture that I would never forget.

It was overcast, but this was my first time at a wind farm...

We arrive in Whitby, and as we travel down the estuary into the town, it's obvious that it's a party town. It's Saturday night and the banks are lined with people waving and the bridges too.

As we pass under a bridge and I see some kids waving at us like mad, so I sound Jurgen's massive foghorn and while the adults recoil the kids clap with delight.

There is no way we are sleeping rough here, our best plan is to birth Black Hawk and find a hotel...

They had Killer Whales & a Humpback off Whitby about a month ago, dunno if they're still around. There's a boat in the harbour that does whale watching trips, worth having a word with them if they're around.
Good luck & keep the updates coming

PS, call & get Jurgen some kippers from Fortunes. You can tie up against the south outer harbour wall & nip up the path straight to the smokehouse about 5 mins away.

We birth Black Hawk, complete our maintenance schedule grab a shower and then me and Jurgen are off walking up into the busy town to find a hotel.

We go from pub to pub trying to find a room but everywhere is booked! We search up every street and phone every number we find.

Some people laugh at us when we ask and say... "This is Whitby, on a Saturday Night?!"

We find ourselves in some back streets high above the town, walking up a steep hill, the streets are lined with B&B's all with signs say No Vacancies!

We have been walking for about 2.5 hours carrying our dry bags and we have exhausted getting a place for the night. We walk back into town defeated. We go back into the Weatherspoon's Jurgen gets our first pint of the day and I go off and quiz the reception to see if there has been a cancelation???

Good news!!! We have two pints and two rooms!!!!

I don't hesitate, I have reserved both rooms for 120 each!!!

As a hen party stands quite close to us, I watch a group of lads think that they are in with a chance? It's the bride to be, all her friends and her family even her mum, the lads are shy but still quite hopeful! To be honest, they had better chances finding a Whale!!!

The best bedroom in Whitby...

The ribs have all arrived just at Whitby safe and sound. It was a bit rough apparently and it's now raining!
