only stick 120hp on the back ?

I have dealt with case where although insurers have been 'aware' of the over rated engine they still refuse to pay a claim .....

I'd approach this one the other way around.

Go for a well loaded up test blast in a Ribeye 600 Plaything with a 120hp on it. It'll be a 4 stroke Yammie, like as not. If you like it, go for it.

If you hate it, then you're probably barking up the wrong tree.

I can help

I've just taken in a 2003/4 Ribeye 600 Playtime with Yam 115hp 4 stroke on the back. Your welcome to put some fuel in it for a test drive, load it as you see fit (provided it's within ratings and you bring the necessary life jackets etc). That should help determine what you need.

The one I have is for sale too for stupid money (under 8,000) but there is a story behind why it's so cheap... Which I'm happy to explain if required. Perfectly function able boat though! In fact I'm hoping to use it myself this summer so please don't buy it

Another option is the Ribeye 785 on Boatshed hamble (i think) with yam 200 Vmax 2 Stroke (no trailer) priced 14,000 - a customer of mine in Ireland told me 11k would buy it - not sure if that's correct though. I think there was one on here too could be the same one.

By ignoring advice on this thread suggesting you put a huge o/b on the back. Buy a 120 four stroke and leave it at that. It's not all about speed: fuel economy, reliability, cost and weight are just as important.

Boatsandoitboards just left you a voice mail. I'm interested to hear the story of the boat you've got for sale.

if it is any help to you I run a Ribcraft 5.85 with a 150 V6 2st on the back. It goes like shite of a shovel ay WOT but I never use all the 'horses' for cruising but it is handy to know its there when I need it for what ever reason.

If you think a Boston Whaler handles in any conditions, you're going to love the way the rib will handle!

They don't have to be mutually exclusive

I've not picked up my voicemails for over a week and won't do so for at leas another week due to a family hospitalisation. I can however access the web (thank god) and have long periods of waiting outside "critical care" so I'm going to send you a PM with further details on this boat. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to do anything work wise right now other than admin or web based but as soon as I can I'd be happy to progress your interest further. The boats not actually up for sale anywhere yet so rest assured, its going nowhere. Your welcome to have first refusal on it until my return to "active duty" though

Pm to follow. Cheers
