They are pratting about where they shouldn't be anyway and nothing gets done so why would banning them be any different the authorities do not seem to be policing it. Now if they were given the incentive of CRUSHING it they maybe suitably motivated

There has been a reply to the thread on pwcforums from PW Partnership.

Topic: Baiter - Poole
Posted By: PW Partnership

We have just spoken to Poole Harbour Master and the following has been confirmed:
- As of June there will be a new PHC harbour patrol PWC in action run by MBS volunteers who have harbour master powers - this will be run specifically to target PWC riders in the area as in previous years.

- Until June PHC will be sending a foot patrol down to Baiter at weekends to gather evidence i.e. Datatag ID numbers, photographs of anyone breaking harbour byelaws and will advise/prosecute accordingly.

- Please be aware that the permit sales booth on Baiter slipway is purely there to sell permits NOT to govern the area, this is not the job they are employed to do.

If you see an issue occuring within the Harbour, regardless of the activity then please consider our motto of 'Action NOT reaction' by contacting Poole Harbour Control directly and immediately so that the incident can be logged and responded to accordingly.

Yes, a real result.

I suspect, given the enthusiastic way the PHC patrol boat was chasing some twit in daddy's bowrider doing 30+ knots and zigzagging through the moorings on Saturday they'll kick some butt.

Yep, he caught him.Given the way he was behaving, I'd be surprised if his fine doesn't make the Echo.

I was laughing quite hard when the guy realised he was being chased and stopped.

What are the fines? Are they substantial enough for someone whose daddy gets them a bowrider?

Good they are doing something!

(Wish they would come and charge the mussell fishermen on the menai straits for doing donuts! then we could get a marina at beamaris!)

Maximum fine is 1,000.00. In practice, they tend to be in the region of 200.00/300.00.

In Essex they tend to be towards the upper quarter of the maximum.
