I still think

That this boat is the best boat their is right now representing excellent construction, outstanding finish and good value for money and performance!!

But then again I may be biased??

I hadn't intended to get you sent to the sin bin for a week, I was wondering about the abreviation "CSM" when you referred to the the Falcon.

Sorry about the spelling, I even looked it up in the Chambers Dictionary, for all the good it did me.

Been a long day what with Wavehumper tearing up great chunks of my Pacific 22 deck with his bare hands, long story, photos follow next week but it does look a mess at the mo.

CSM (chopped strand mat) is OK, in fact very good for bulk and under compression, but under tension and in fact most flexing situations you want good old woven, or + and - 45. It's interesting looking at the different layup schedules people use, I don't think there are many builders who sit down and really think through exactly which way all the twisting and loading will occur when thier boats go to work (by work I don't mean sodding around at 20 knts on a calm day)
Strands of glass are increadibly strong under tension, but crap under compression, so it's dead important to plan out all the directional glass so it can do it's job properly.

I was banned a couple of times, or was it three, when I first came on the forum, I have to confess to coming on purely for a wind up as a very good pal of mine said "you have to go on ribnet and see what b*****ks a couple of people are talking on there"!
I registered as "splodge"(see "Formula 1 2003" thread in rib gallery), then as "smudge", then as "innocent" but apparently I wasn't so I got banned again! but I'm reformed now, out on parole so to speak.

Manos, any builder can build a boat strong enough to stay together,but it may be too heavy, any builder can build a boat light enough to be fast, but it may break or look like it's been to hell and back after one race.
The art is in building one that can do both,
from strength, weight, good hull design and knowelegable set up comes a boat capable of winning races, that is the true test.
your falcon may prove to be all these things, but experience tells me 'one' should keep 'ones' gob shut until the fat lady has finished squarking or a metric tonne of humble pye may be delivered to 'one's' door! and 'one' might not even be hungry! LOL

Manos I truely hope your boat is a great success, I'm just saying don't be too gobby about it at this early stage, there's plenty of time for that when your holding a chequered flag, you won't get any heckeling then!
