Foot Wear

I have just purchased Camel Trophy dry suits for me and the other half.

What did they wear on their feet? The dry suits have no built in feet.

What do you reccomend? Brands/Websites etc

Jono

I have just ordered my Drysuit from Ravenspring. They do 3 options for feet - hard boots, built in neoprene socks, or ankle seals.

If you opt for the ankle seals they recommend a 3/4 neoprene boot - like a divers boot, which then comes up above the ankle seal.

You can then wear trainers or deck shoes fr when you are not itending to get wet - e.g. on the way to the pub!

This is where we got them from - they have other Camel kit listed but not the lifejackets any more - think they would be worth a call though.

Hi guys,
This seems to be turning into a bit of a private thread!
So I thought I had better add something to it! I've got both the above (lifejacket and epirb) and both are in excellent condition. I did buy both for friends as well, so if you are desperate for the lifejacket (to match the suite you tart! ) Jono, I will ask if he wants to sell.
Haven't tried my suit yet Jono. I didn't want to end up stuck in it, by myself in a hotel room!!. Would have been a bit sad calling room service to help me get out of it! It does look a tad small for me though Hope I don't have to end up selling it.
Hope you all have a good day on the Thames. I'm on the Thames as well but up at Reading. Suggested to the g/f about joining you lot, but she has her heart set on just us.
Cheers,
Andy.

Jools

Me and Andy got the last 4, but my mate said he went in yesterday and there was one hanging from the ceiling, so you may get that one.

Camel Dry Suit

Hi Jono,
Did you wear the suit on Saturday?? What did you and you other half think of them?? Cherie loved hers, but the top on mine is too small.

If someone offered my the full price (Sian???) I would sell it - £95. May keep trousers and sell top as dry cag to some canoeists I know. Top is large and trousers are XL - well that's what they say but I'm not too sure. PM me if anyone is interested.

Andy.

ps we went out on Thames at Reading on Saturday. Good day but a bit painful at less than 8km/hr!!!

Do you have a picture of your dry suit - Sian may very well be interested.

Hi Andy

Sorry to hear the top doesn't fit, I liked the top but trousers were a bit naf. Ask your mate about life jacket.

The top would be ideal for Jools on the tomkat

Hi all,
I'm surprised Jono was not modelling his suit at the weekend!
I'm seeing my mate tomorrow so will ask about the lifejacket. Will have the suit at the SOC send-off for anyone that is interested. Won't try and sell it elsewhere before then.
I've attached a pic and the boots are at your own discretion!

Andy.

Sorry...

Jono,
Afraid my mate does not want to sell his Camel Lifejacket unless you are paying "silly money" (his words) which probably translates to more than £50!!!!
Sorry.
Andy.

Hi Jools,
Nope, just stopped at the first lock we came to, filled in form and paid £7 for day licence.
Was a bit annoying in that we had planned to go downstream towards Windsor but lock was being rebuilt and closed to traffic! Went up stream, went through a couple of locks and found a lovely pub for lunch,
Cheers,
Andy.
