Brian, can you tell me how long you can record with the Drift Innovation X170 Action Camera's built in memory of 32MB please?

Also how long do the batteries last for?

having watched your Vid Brian I reckon the two camera recommendations are aimed at different ways of videoing the RIB action.
The fixed camera videos the deck and forward view, the Flip is ideal for just puting in the pocket and taking short videos for making into short movies of a trip.
I tend to use the flip as the second version and use this instead of taking pics of a day.
Depends what you want which is best.

Highttower,

I really dont think you can use the internal memory.
I just tried it and it beeps at me!
I use a 2gb card which will last about 30mins, a 4gb, about an hour.

Its the screen display that uses batteries up. Mine have lasted about 3 hours now, and still going strong, but this is because I set the camera to turn off the sreen after 20 secs.

I've been pondering the purchase of a Kodak Playsport for filming the Quad Biking I do these days. It's waterproof and does HD. Would seem perhaps to be a good alternative to a Flip for RIB use?

http://shop.kodak.co.uk/store/ekcons...ctID.170164000

Incidentally, they are $149+tax here in Canada vs. GBP 129 in UK. (So thats about GBP110 at todays exchange rate.)
