8 months deliverytime on a new Scorpion!!!

I have looked at several ribs by now, and I fell in love with the Scorpion. I ordered a 8.5m with twin 250s. Not until I have payed the deposit, could I get a confimed time of delivery, which was eight months!
I sent a mail to get my deposit back, and right now I am wondering which boat to try next.
This only confirm that the production capisity is too small compaired to their popularity.
Have a nice one, I wouldnt.

Scorpion

Thats the problem with these boats, so many people are ordering them that they cant build them fast enough. There also difficult to get hold of second hand, Well worth the wait though.

If you cant wait that long try Ribtec or Revenger etc.

Waiting List

Hi Ribraff

To be honest i really dont know what Revengers waiting list is. I know that with most boat builders this is a quiet time of year for them, companies like Scorpion are busy all year round but Revenger may be in a lull at the moment.

Best thing is to give them a call 01489 572404

I Think Brian's Scorpion is still for sale. I can tell you that it's one incredible RIB.

I am not sure that Ribtec boats woul meet your requirements, they are not famous for their speed. I've been on a Gemini 7.5 FRE with 2 ss5 opti's and the performance was stunning plus the Handling was impressive at 72 knots. It has 12 seats and it's available now. we keep our boats in the same yard ass the dealers who are ribshop.co.uk. He is also Storm on this forum

Ribcraft are good boats also but I think that they have a long waiting list as well

Have to disagree with that Wave, I can't beleive that it does 72 knots. I had a similar boat that did just under 60 knots. They have also had a lot of probs with those boats.

Hi, Paul!
I tried to look a little at the Artic boats. I called the guy who makes them and surfed a little after articles.
1) they dont have a homepage
2) I couldnt find anything about them on the net,l how seriouse are they?

What do you know about the Articboats that we dont know.

Hi Stuart

I wasn't actually driving the boat or sitting near the console, i just asked what the speed was and that was that. I have always been impressed by this boat as I could never catch it when it was out on the water.
I have tried catching this boat several times and failed and have allways been impreseed by the way it rode the sea. I personally have found that The Bigger Ribtecs are a bit wobbly at speed.

What was your similar boat and what problems are thay having?

cheers
Stuart

It's a very clever new release of the legendary optimax engines. the technological breakthru is the saving of weight by making the engines and castings from a light but strong metal called typotanium. The output of the engine is a modest 225 hp but the engine only weighs 5kg.

Does anybody know where I can get some new fingers from cos the ones I've got are shot to bits

5kg and 225 hp! Expect they might be a bit expensive!
