2011 Round Britain Powerboat Race

Another Round Britain race for the calendar in June/July 2011. The race will be along the lines of RB08 in terms of style & routes. The classes will be the same, the race has the support of the previous organisers.

A kick off meeting is booked for Dec 5th 2009. To be held at Drivers Dry Berthing - Southampton. All are welcome, the meeting will include the following - Level of interest from racers, a pledge of support from support crew/ race officials and provisional dates, venues, fee's, roles & responsibilities.

Dean Gibbs of "Going Lean" is heading it up, and there's already a lot of interest - it was announced yesterday and already 16 teams have confirmed their interest.

More details on Boatmad and at www.roundbritainrace.co.uk

If it was my boat I know who'd be sitting there and I'm sure she'd never come out with em again

Petter Martins of Berserk Design from Norway - good isn't he!

There are actually two rear seats, the design allows for the partial canopy rules.

Yes - I am currently in discussions with a potential sponsor, but we hope to be doing both races!

On the bright side we hope to have our own seat suspension system, Ian Dalziel has kindly forwarded his design and I think we'll end up with something similar.

We'll be doing the 2011 but not the the 2012 at the moment,
The XS 2000 is for sale and if it sells (Team 25) hopes to go up a couple of classes with Blast Off and Marcus in Cinzano next year.
We really enjoyed Endurance this year and being 1st in the Cowes Torquay Cowes at the half way stage was a huge lift for us in the conditions of the day.
