newbie with a stupid question

hi everybody just joined as bought an avon searider 320 jet rib as a tender .i am loving it but do these boats not have a neutral or is mine broken as as soon as i start the engine its trying to pull forward quite strongly even causing problems trying to untie it whilst holding on to the pontoon .i really should have joined here first but just fell in love with it and impulse bought it thanks for any help

Hi,

Not sure about the specifics on your boat but I would expect a reverse bucket - basically a scoop that drops down over your jet outlet.

Usually all the way down for reverse and midway down for neutral.

You never actually disengage the drive, just balance the thrust.

It should be very obvious to see if you have one and you would probably have a leaver to operate it, although modern jet skis are controlled electronically from a handlebar lever.
