Warmest Hallowe'en ever

With unusual foresight, we had booked today off work and we were in East Anglia with the boat. What a glorious day for it. Launched at Wroxham Broad on a free slipway, chugged along the river to Horning, visiting a couple of broads on the way, then went back to Wroxham itself before returning to Wroxham Broad.

Found a quiet corner of an empty broad and got it on the plane for about 3 seconds, just to prove to my wife that I can get it up. (It was only our second trip on the boat.)

Saw a kingfisher and some Egyptian geese, and all the usual suspects.

An unforeseeably lovely end to the summer. Unless we get the boat out again tomorrow, that will probably be it until spring.

Look on the bright side - you have a boat... AND you can wade in really deep!

Last year had a few days holiday with the family and SIB, in Horning. After obeying the speed limit religiously I decided to do the same and open the throttle, just for a few seconds. Unbeknown to me I was insight of a norfolk broads authority boat which then put on his blue light and asked me to pull over. I then received a 10 min lecture about speed limits etc. Needless to say my daughter who was with me was very embarrassed!!

Coincidentally, we saw a Broads Authority boat in the same area an hour or so later as we were coming back.

If you see two of each kind of animal marching towards your boat, please give the rest of us a heads up!
