I've still got my low hours Tohatsu 9.8 hp two stroke for sale. It's on an Avon 311 RIB sitting on an excellent combi trailer for £1500. We're in Blakeney, Norfolk.

Yeah bit of a pain. Although according to the manual after 2 hours I can get a bit of full throttle action!

They are quite special outboards in their class Duggie so well done getting a sparkling new one.

Nice one!

I've just pulled my 2006 out of winter storage and she fired up first pull. Full service today and going on DoneDeal next week - two boats and three engines makes no sense!

BTW Duggie - when she arrived was she actually a 2006 or is she more recent?

You should have a sticker/plate on the side of the engine casing. The year is stated simply.

Interesting - nothing like my plate. Almost certainly not a 2006 but much fresher indeed! I'd guess he's "importing" them from the Far East and selling them on Fleabay on the QT. The motor is a good deal at that price even with no warranty?

I suspect if he did - they would have a CE mark like mine does! I have no doubt that they've BEEN in Poland, just not Polish market units, IMO.

Not if they are recent though? I assume a "Commercial Use" 2 smoke doesn't have a CE mark, because it doesn't conform to the directive?

Must be a date stamp somewhere on it? I know it's not like cars and ashtrays but surely they need to have this marked in some form??

As Max says... perhaps stamped inside the hood or in any other larger plastic part?? Have to be cautious though as sometimes this can be a design date.... so you just know it's at least as new as the date you find.

I'm expecting it to be a 2015 or 2016.

Who would ever trace it though willk?

Sounds like a great deal - but dodgy goods always were cheap...

On another vein, as small 2 strokes are still being made new as here - is there any updated tech going into them? Still after a 25 hp stroke with the weight of a 15 and fuel consumption of a 4S...
