cav plate and transom

hifolks, hope you can help me, i have a quicksilver 330, with a mariner 15hp outboard.
tried it out last night for the first time, went ok, but, i think the motor is too long for the sib, when it sits on the transom, the cav plate is about 110ml below the water line, i cant afford to change the engine, so i was wondering how high i can build up the transom, at the moment the water plumes are swamping the boat and are probably 6feet high .

any ideas

thanks in advance

mike

Photo of the outboard on the transom (out of the water) should help us assist.

Is the outboard long or short shaft?

Can you explain 110 below water line... the distance that's important is the cav plate relative to the bottom of the boat/transom. It should be around level to an inch or so below.

As far as I know the Quicksilver 330 isn't prone to excessive splashing so unless you have a longshaft by mistake it should be OK with a very small spacer or altering trim angle.

Sounds like you definitely have a long shaft, you cannot build the transom up that much, if so you will need to swap for a short sadly.
