Stephen,

Had you thought of fitting a lawnmower engine to drive the wheels?
Hey Presto - a for more economic alternative to Sealegs.co.nz

Maybe not RyanAir but there will be direct commercial flights from the UK to the Falklands soon. I reckon they will see an upsurge in tourism. Steve I reckon you should contact John Price at Quinquari and get yourself a nice big Humber 11m - you will make a fortune!!!

As to what else is there it sounds like paradise to me - unlimited offroading - great ribbing prospects and 8,000 miles from Tony Blair. Also it looks like Wales and the people are proud to be British!!!

Hmm, let me see.....

unlimited offroading ...... pretty much, check.
great ribbing prospects..... very definately, check.
8000 miles from Tony Blair..... well 2000 miles which is enough for me, check.
looks like wales......in parts for sure, check.
People are proud to be British....well they like the British and are proud to be Newfoundlanders, check.
No minefields....check.

Yes, I think where I live meets all the Codprawn requirements for paradise. When are you coming over?

So that would be a "no" then? (you haven't). Minefields? About 0.1% of the land area I think.... our family owns about 100,000 acres and the only UXB is a 1000lb bomb buried somewhere in the peat about half a mile from the house, not really a problem, it's be awfully bad luck if it went off when I was driving over it with all that land to play in

Actually what am I doing arguing - if everybody realised what it is like to live in a largely regulation free society with almost zero crime, excellent healthcare, excellent education, clean air, fantastic wildlife, wonderful food, no terrorists, empty roads etc etc etc there would be far too many people here which would ruin it

Yes it is terrible, I expect to lose both legs gardening on the weekend and then probably an arm crawling through the snow to call for help, that is if I don't get pushed off this godforsaken frozen rock by a penguin and drown before that. Don't come here, ever, brrrrrr its horrible ghastly place, definitely one to avoid

No I havn't been there, and I have no longing, desire, wish, or other physical embodiment to visit the place. I lived in Montreal for some time and was working for Esso - when they sent me to the wilds ( Churchill Falls in the '70's) Yes it was clean air, fantastic wildlife, zero crime, wonderful food- yet could'nt wait to get back to city life, ( pollution, crime, crappy everything)- but do you know something- I had missed it . I am pretty shure if you took Codders out of his godforsaken welsh mountians and plonked him in London it would have the same effect....

Fair enough - I feel the same way about London, I usually spend about a day a year there, sometimes two, and I can't get out of the place quick enough. New York is even worse. I guess it's what you are used to - but as somebody once said, the trouble with being at the head of the rat race is that you are still a rat (nothing personal meant by that)

No not quite - the 2 places I would LOVE to live are Brecon and London - you don't get much more of a contrast than that!!!

In fact I adore travel and would go ANYWHERE I had the chance to - even Iraq!!!
