San Francisco Ribs

I am looking at a transfer for work to the Bay area next summer. I will be looking to live between SFO and San Jose.

Are there many RIB type boats runnin around the Bay area?

Hi Patrick, and welcome to Ribnet

I was out there a few weeks ago, and counted no less than about 10 Protector cabin ribs...

there were also others...

I'm also considering a transfer there from UK and if it all comes about will aim to take my rib out with me...

good luck with the move

I rarely see RIBs on the SF Bay; then again, I don't spend much time out there.

If you're looking for rides, there used to be an outfit that had a Zodiac for rent (Found it doing a web search for SF boat rental or charter, I think); other than that, not too many.

If you're just looking, Monterey on weekends with decent weather usually has a dozen or so divers out in RIB's (including me.) Monterey is about a 2 hr drive south of SF; an hour or so south of San Jose.

There are quite a few I spied in Sausalito the other day. I had my SIB out on the ocean along the Marin side of SF Bay then made a tour around Alcatraz and went for a hike on Angel Island.

Thank you for the replies.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are quite a few RIBS in the bay area.
It looks like I might move there next summer. Will be taking my SR5.4 with me.

Now if I can only talk the wife into a new four stroke, moving map GPS/fish finder etc...
