I dealt with John recently as my usual provider (one of the names routinely mentioned here) had provided a nice quote but with a variety of terms I didn't really like (wheel clamp even inside locked shed, no singlehanded use after dusk (which is not something I would routinely plan but could happen) etc. John's price was a little dearer in the end but actually covered what I asked for, and he was very patient with my back and forth enquiries for what must have been about 20p of commission!

However, when considering Insurance remember to check everything they send you - not all policies are the same and this is generally reflected in the variance in prices. Winter Thefts / Crime !

Dear all, in the day job we do unfortunately see & hear of a lot of things that aren't great . In speaking to insurers and underwriters recently they have noted an increase of theft/attempted OB theft from boats of all types over winter - professional gangs targeting OBs in particular.

Unfortunately when boats aren't being used or given much 'love' as its cold and dark they become ideal high value targets.

Please please please don't become a victim of marine crime. If criminals see you actively crawling over/ under around or even starting the engine on your boat, fitting and removing locks etc there is every chance they will move on to the 'next'.........
