Marine-Super-Store

anyone have any previous dealings with them ? whats their response time and attitude when solving a problem.

Story in brief : 1 month ago bought a midland neptune fixed set, opened box when arrived to measure template for position in console, put back in box, tonight came to last few jobs on the SR refurb, Radio last but one, plugged it in and it lights up, NO squelch, hissing anything, double checked all feeds / aerial etc all spot on,

have emailed them and need a very quick fix / exchange, whatever, as back end of next week its in the water for a week playing round Torbay.

well, spoke with the manager Elaine, who passed me onto the firm that supplies them, he confirmed my "diagnosis" that the unit is faulty, he passed me back to MSS, who are sending another unit, which hopefully arrives Friday, and then i can test and send the original one back, Lets hope it works out like that. Will update this thread if things do work out.

We nip over to 'the Superstore' in Port Solent when we need bits for work, always found the staff to be pretty darn helpful. They are open late on Friday 'n Saturday which is always a bonus when I've inevitably forgotten something!

Note to self.....check RIBnet before placing a (thankfully small /low value) order (they had what we wanted a good price /in stock supposedly)....

They are quite frankly useless and a PITA to deal with.....best avoided IMO

I should have done my research too, I bought some hatch fairings online on their site, waited three weeks, nothing.
When I called to check on progress I was told that the items were obsolete and I should get refunded in a 'few weeks'.
Nice of them to let me know!

I use marine 'Superstore', always very helpful, loads of stock and have some very keen prices, been using them for 8 years and the staff seem to stick around so must be a decent employer

We need a Mnemonic, how about:

Super(man) = Good
Mega(tron) = Bad
