Geonav 5 problem

Hi
Our club rib has a Geonav 5 yellow model Gps system fitted. Our problem is the user manual has went missing and no-one in the club can remember how to input co-ordinates and tell the unit how to goto.can anybody out there either talk me through it on here or point me in the right direction(no pun intended) of where we can get a user manual. It is all very well having a gps system onboard but if nobody can use it were back to the old faithfull transits which causes no end of arguments.
Thanks in advance

Hi Pickled,

You could try the Geonav Web site where you can download the owners manuals for most models for free in PDF format try here http://www.geonav.it/english/chartpl.../geonav5c.html

Good luck,

Steve

Thanks Steve,
I have downloaded that file ,however it does not appear that you can input co-ordinates into this unit.I find this strange as any other gps that weve used has this function.Namely punch in the numbers and then goto.Am i missing something really simple here? Or has the club bought the ultra cheap as chips model?

Pickled we do not deal with Geonav products but I do know that most of the earlier units, although very tough and waterproof, they were EXTREMELY basic in terms of GPS capability (one of the reasons we sell Garmin & Raymarine etc) so it may well be that yours cannot have co-ordinates put in manually but I am not an expert on these units! Suggest you speak to Navionics who may know a Geonav dealer who can help?

If you want their contact details let me know and I will sort them out on Monday for you.

All the best,

Steve
