Electronic Boat secuity

what the best electronic boat security out there??, has anybody had experience of having to activate one??
im looking for a sim card unit that can be activated if the boat goes walkies,then traced,
seems to me that chains and locks arent working as well as they probally should,
something like a GPS tracking device!!

Hi,
take a look 4 "fleetac" at the bay. I get this and i`m very satisfied with this. Works with a normal sim-card and gives u the gps-position, speed etc. back by sending a simple sms to the unit. Great stuff 4 about € 20,-- upto 100,--€.

I seem to recall that you can get a Lo-Jack system installed. There are a couple of "Marine" versions out there as well. They seem kind of pricey to me.

I would guess the unit would have to be wired up directly to the battery (else selecting "Off" would defeat it.) Your local law enforcement agencies would have to be equipped to track the thing down, as well, or an agent would have to come on scene to do the tracking.
