That's correct they tailor the brands for the different markets. Lowrance is suited for the fishing user, Simrad is cruising and Fishing and B&G is a pure sailing Product.

Simrad is not a high price product any more. The new GO5 actually has a cheaper RRP than its Lowrance equivalent by about 50.

Simard stuff looks very, very, very, very nice but I was concerned about touch screen on exposed rib. Both from spray and needing to remove gloves for use.

Bit the bullet and bought 55dv with flush mount seal kit.
Waiting for the postman now.....

Will reserve "widescreen" for next boat.
