What baffles me is that it shows 12.6v's with the ignition on but engine not running

Sounds like a fairly healthy battery to me mate. 12.6V to just short of 13V is fine and shows a well charged optimum state for a open circuit battery i.e.; nothing switched on. As long as the battery holds charge over a couple of weeks without being used it is fine.

Andy, if you want to show current voltage in the data bar. go to map page, select menu,change numbers, highlight the field you want to change and then scroll through the list to find voltage. or add another row of data bars.
