Smart Craft 3.01

One is for Mercury Heads !!!!!

We have just got a 2004 Opti ... with a smartcraft tacho and speedo guage when going throught the calibration menu's looking to turn it form Us Gallons to Liters , the 'page' that has this option seems to be missing !!!! we have read all the manuals , and checked, with the latest manual online, which is the same one we have, just to see if it some where else , but its not there !!!

the instruction book we have covers version 2.00 -3.00 and 3.01 flashes up on our screen at start up

Anyone have any Ideas ?????

Tim, also hav a 2004 Opti with Smartcraft 3.01

From what you've said you've probably already gone through the correct procedure, but just double check:

1) Press in the MODE and TROLL + buttons and hold for 7 seconds until you see the CAL 1 screen.

2) Press MODE repeatedly until you get to the DISPLAY UNITS menu. This should be the 6th menu on the System Tachometer and the 6th/7th menu on the System Speedometer (depending on whether you've got GPS connected)

3) Try on both displays, Speedo & Tacho.

Also there is a common fault with the Smartcraft Tacho where the display can scramble. It still functions perfectly but the LCD is hard to read. We had ours replaced under warranty by Marine Motors.

Good luck with the new boat, get some pictures up here soon!!

Smartcraft 3.01

I am still smiling from trials with my new optimax on Saturday - whilst it is a 2005 ( no difference from 2004 model year) the Smartcraft are also at 3.01, but the manual is 2.00 and 3.00.
From my experience today at 0830 Steve G is correct and the calibration mode/set up is the same.
In tacho on Cal1, set the "Display Units" field to metric and it does change (on mine anyway !)
Clever piece of kit !
Jeff
