Some where in the realms of the internet or my manual it'll tell me what size the main electrical cable size should be for an Evinrude 150DI 2005.

Trouble is, I haven't found it yet.......So if some kind soul will tell me what size (in mm2) my main battery cable should be for a 22' run, I would be very happy.

Don't know if it's any help, but a 150 Opti needs min. 35sq.mm. cables for the same length run.

Well I have over estimated the lengths by the tune of a couple of feet, just to make sure. By the time I've conected the earths on the - side and the links from the batteries to the 4 way switch and from the common to the outboard, yes about 20 foot.

From the Evinrude Service Manual E-Tecs 115-200 you get this info:
1 to 10 ft 4 Gauge / 19mm
11 to 15ft 2 Gauge / 32mm
16 to 20ft 1 Guage / 40mm

I think the E-tec has slightly higher output from the alternator than your DI so the 35Sq mm that you have is probably spot on.

Get marine grade cable from these guys: http://www.merlinequipment.com/ and the glue heatshrink crimp connectors from http://www.wurth.co.uk/ for the smaller stuff and you won't have any trouble with your electrics!

Thanks guys, I've already got 60ft of high grade 35mm2 copper cable that my last company used on DC drive systems and will do just fine, just wanted to make sure it was up to the job.

If you let me know exactly which diameter cables you are connecting, I'll post the Wurth Article Nos for you to quote when you ring them. I'm a rep for them in Ireland and have the entire catalogue. Same goes for anyone who needs article nos for sealant and bolts etc.
