What's your plan?

If you did sell it as a package I can only think of one suitable replacement and it goes by the initials SR

Thanks All,

Unfortunatly there is no budget for changing the engine, certainly not for a year at least. Looks like i'll have to be dissapointed then

Maybe I should have done a little more reasearch first before buying it

Max is 150hp on that hull. So its no surprise that max speed is modest and you only get that at WOT.

I have a 60hp Yam, but its on a boat 5ft shorter and more than 100 kilos lighter.

Sell the 60 and get a used 100 or 115 (or more) if you can. If you shop wisely you can reuse your existing controls and cables.

Oh oops I thought it was the bigger hull. Whatever it is, 60hp is far too small!

RIBase
I have a 60 etec on a 4.9m rib. this engine size is right for that size of boat but not for a rib of your size

All joking aisde, I'm looking ain a postage stamp sized window of your photo (at work! ) - is your transom flat across the top? If so, Beamishken's suggestion isn't so daft...... (and before you all go down the "twin vs single" arguments let's not start that all again here.... )

Also dinae fasch yersel' - pretty much everyone on here would say 40 HP minimum for an SR4. I drove mine around with a 25 on the back for years and happily cruised at 20 knots. I now have a more suitably matched engine & boat....and still cruise around at 20 odd knots! Granted at 4500rpm rather than the 5500 I used to.....

Assuming it's power trim, have a play with that - you might eek another couple of knots (or reduce the revs a bit) by trimming it right.

Moving the weight around (anchor / fuel etc) might also help - the less Hp you have the more critical that becomes.
