Hi all,

Managed to finally get it moving and out with lots of brute force and swearing.

Took it completely out and cleaned out cable and tilt tube, followed by nice clean new white lithium grease ( as recommended by manufacturer) and then put it all back!

I've never seen such a shiny steering cable before!

Think I'll add this job to my regularish maintenance schedule from now on!

Thanks all

A bloke that I used to work with had a crest on his toolbox comprising a Crossed Lumphammer and Condom with the motto If you can't Fix it - F**k it

You only ever need 2 tools ; Gaffer tape & a hammer.

If it moves but shouldn't - gaffer tape it.

If it doesn't move but it should - hammer it.

Aaaah, but in New Zeeld (where the offending cable was located I think) you need third - number 8 fencing wire.

A kotanga can be substituted for said fencing wire in most cases.
