Buying advice, Selva izmir 2 stroke 6 hp 2cil

Hello,

I am looking for some help and advice.

I can buy a Selva izmir 2 stroke 6 hp 2cilinders from 2004. And plan to use it on a Rigiflex cap370 for cannel trips in Amsterdam

Is Selva reliable and is the quality reasonable, the price is.

I cant comment on Selva as I've never owned one. I nearly bought one once, but I was put off because it sounded a lot noisier than what I was used to.

I would personally be looking at putting something bigger on your boat. I too have a Rigiflex (I think they are really great boats) and have a 15hp Mariner on mine. We could really do with a tad more for certain situations, although the 15 is a nice little engine. I have run a Johnson 6hp on one (360) and that was painfully slow, even on a river (3 people on board).

i have had 2 selva engines in the past both never let me down just cus they arent a popular make thay are ok in my book

also selva is owned by yamaha so most parts are yamaha based

look on e bay and type in selva good cheep engines
