RIBnet burgees

I ordered these from the Yacht Flag Co in San Rafael, California www.yachtflag.com on 12 March this year. They had anwered all my pre-sales emails promptly and efficiently and sounded like a good company to work with. I paid in full and delivery was quoted as 4-6 weeks.

As time went by, I emailed a few times for an update and on 11 May I finally had a reply, apologising for the delay and saying that they would be shipping in approximately 2 weeks. Then nothing . . .

A local RIBnet member chased it for me by phone and got fobbed off. My emails and phone calls go unanswered. I've finally emailed cancelling the order, and I've just sent refunds to everyone who ordered a burgee. In the meantime Paypal won't help me get my money back because the payment was more than 45 days ago. How pleased am I?

Anyway, apologies to everyone who was waiting patiently to no avail. I will try to source another supplier who can produce what we want at a reasonable price at some time.

Oh, and if you came here via a search engine looking for the Yacht Flag Company of San Rafael, California www.yachtflag.com I would suggest you take your yachtflag business elsewhere!

Thanks. Any help would be good right now.

I ordered from

Matthew Byers
Yachtflag Co.
41 Knollwood Drive
San Rafael, CA 94901
USA
(415) 235-8187
www.yachtflag.com
sales@yachtflag.com

Pre-sale service was great. We exchanged half a dozen emails between 2 and 11 March, and I placed the order on 12 March.

I sent $726.20 via PayPal for their invoice # P1141. Matthew responded saying that he had received the payment and to allow "four to six weeks for delivery".

I sent follow up emails asking for an update on:

9 April
19 April
1 May
10 May

On 11 May I finally got a reply which said "Im sorry for not being in touch with you, but I have been overwhelmed with things lately. But dont worry
you have not been forgotten. Your order is just about to go into producton and will be ready for shipping in approximately two weeks."

I sent another follow up email asking for an update on 5 June

On 7 June jyasaki got hold of Matthew by phone for me, and was told that they had staff problems and estimated "about 3 more weeks".

I sent yet another follow up email asking for an update on 10 July

No reply

On 17 July I emailed notice that unless I had confirmation that the order had been shipped within 7 days I would be requesting a refund

No reply

On 25 July I emailed requesting a refund.

On 30 July I sent the same email from a different address in case he has blacklisted rib.net

I have also phoned on four occasions over the last few months but just got voicemail. I left my details each time but got no response.

That's the sorry saga. Feel free to make of it what you will!

Time for a long overdue update!

After Tony spoke to Matthew Byers he asked for one final, final chance to put things right and make the flags. He promised faithfully that he would get them dispatched within two weeks or give me a full refund.

He didn't meet the deadline, but he did eventually get the flags to me. Despite a seven month wait, possibly the worst customer service ever, and a generally bad attitude from the Yachtflag Company, I have to say that I am impressed with the result.

They are seriously sturdy, double thickness, printed both sides with sewn edging. They're not exactly as ordered as they should have had blue edging on the short side too, but I won't be sending them back!

They can now be ordered in the RIBnet shop.

Burgees

Just received my Ribnet Burgee. Very nice and really heavy duty quality.
Nice job JK. Just perfect for Xmas stockings.
