Top Gear - Gibb Quod bikeski

Have to say I liked the Gibb Quod bike/ski thing on Top Gear tonight - and for 26K- I'm impressed. Would love to have one.

However - Not quite so sure of BBC / Clarkson bombing around Lake Como at speed with no PFD of any description, or a helmet-the later useful on the land bit as well. I' not one for the H&S police, but I did think this is not good practice. He was wearing the kill cord (around his wrist) though.

What's the opinion of the Ribnet jury?

Good program, gave me a giggle. Up to JC if he can't be arsed with a PFD.

Hmmmmm, to be honest, the whole format is creaking at the seams and after two weeks of the new series it's looking unbelieveably predictable, dated and formulaic. Time for some new young talent to emerge methinks. Someone needs to do to Clarkson what he did to Tony Mason all those years ago...

And yes, his whole 'attitude' toward water-based activity, demonstrated over many series, is wholly irresponsible.

If he were purely an individual pratting about maybe...but he is the front for very popular BBC programme syndicated to God knows how any countries....would the the BBC allow him not to wear a seat belt in a car and broadcast that?

I watched the first 2 episodes of the last series & gave up. Tired, formulaic, puerile. I could forgive Hammond & Clarkson but not May, he's better than that.

Err, that's the whole idea of the show isn't it? It's not so much a motoring programme; it's three middle-aged men acting as though they're teenagers. I can't believe any comments on this thread are serious!

Perhaps, but a PFD is not a legal requirement. A seatbelt is...
