I just drove from Manchester back to Colchester. Drizzle in Manchester, torrential rain around Stoke, Birmingham and Coventry and now bright evening sunshine in Colchester!

4. Time to evacuate the building as the flood has burst through to our car park and turned it into a paddling pool. Took my shoes and socks off and rolled my trousers up to paddle to the car.
5. After four diversions like this one, I abandoned the car on a small hill and walked the last mile home.

When I was there (1980) Scotch Corner was a roundabout, a service station and a hotel. It was also on pretty high ground.

Global warming.

Maybe we'll soon get a Global wetting Tax.
