Great Summer
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6907316.stm
Just for a change
Parts of the UK are braced for a prolonged period of heavy and thundery rain expected to move in on Friday.
Forecasters said the band of severe weather would hit southern parts of England and Wales first before moving into central areas in the afternoon.
In other words the West Coast gets it 1st - as usual........

it's disgusting
I let the chickens out this morning. The ones with windows in their houses didn't move and inch (they normally bundle through the door), the ones without windows came out and then went straight back in. meanwhile I got soaked the rain was so heavy.

There's a serious situation developing at the back of our office, and if the victim doesn't survive, he or she could be up for a Darwin award!
A Ford Fiesta (or Fusion?) has driven down a flooded road, and stopped under a bridge where the water's deepest.... up to the bottom of the windows. The fire brigade are there now trying to evacuate the driver right now, but of course the door won't open!

The driver hasn't been watching those Survival programmes then. If they had they'd know to open the window first to equalise the pressure. Then you've got to let the car fill up with water, push the door open and then swim out.
Hope they get out okay.

I've just checked my boat as its stopped raining, for now. The well at the transom is completely full of water. Seeing as the boat has an all over cover that doesn't leak but has a small gap around the A Frame thats 12 inches of rain that fell overnight and during the morning.
I emptied the well yesterday.

I currently have a bilge pump clearing my garden so my garage doesn't flood. It's only just keeping up

Looking at the forecast it aint gonna get any better either, rain for the next week ahead just for a change have been wearing my wet suit out on the rib and have done plenty of snorkeling, with a decent wetsuit on the sea is nice and warm at least, don't hold up much hope for the sun tan this year though

According to the radio the middle of England is now getting it.
More floods for the poor people who got it last month.

LOL no, I was paddling-and I got a few tingles off it! The battery is plugged into a charger too (which is tucked up in the dry with a powerbreaker on)
It's worked though-I only ended up with about half a gallon of water in the garage.

yep scouts honour! Took it at about 2.10 this afternoon.
I've had a few calls from people coming down tomorrow wanting to know if we're flooded out, they don't believe me either !

Sorry guys...
It's 25C, sunny and a 10-15 knot breeze, and supposed to stay like this until Tuesday. We're heading out this evening to grill a salmon on one of our islands, with a nice Pinot Noir!
