Dental Abcess

Took this week off work to get some jobs done and spend some time with my family who finished school last Friday.

Monday - Started to feel a bit of toothache.
Rest of the week - Bit of a drug induced blur, but included a trip to the dentist and the docs for Antibiotics/Painkillers.
Today - Bust in my nasal cavity - Yuck, but pain has eased.

The point of this post - F**k me, I NEVER want that again.

Will try to get some sleep tonight.

Nasher.

I had one of these a while back on a tooth that had already been root filled and which part-supported a bridge. The antibiotics did the trick and things have settled down. If they hadn't, I was looking at a full-on apicoectomy (one of those procedures you're definitely better off not knowing about).

Been there done that. Suffered a week on antibiotics & painkillers, my dentist then referred me to a specialist. Within 1/2 an hour of walking into the surgery, he did an emergency root canal treatment & the pain just disappeared. I'd have quite happily borne his children. Which I'm convinced would have been less painfull, despite wot wimmin claim.

I had one and was in so much pain I made a beeline to the emergency dental practice at Guys Hospital, big mistake, they just ripped the tooth out in in doing so damaged my jaw - I later learnt that wasn't the way to deal with an abscess.

It's the same as an abscess in a horses foot you find it and make a hole the horse goes sound.

Big advocate of self-surgery

A couple of years ago I dislocated two fingers on my left hand. I had a big Movano back then and slammed my hand in the side loading door. I know, idiot... Drove home being a squinny, asked the girlfriend to snap them back in and she said no! Unbelievable! Ended up running them under cold water and doing it myself. Since then, there's been no stopping me!

Last one was a metal splinter in my hand (skin's a bit hard, so I didn't realise) and it had healed over. Big ugly lump - chopped it open and squeezed it out with a load of other junk. Job's a good un!

I am as well, especially when the local medics don't give a lot of confidence, a few years ago on a military dive exped to the Faroes and had something very pussie in the bottom of my foot.
The RN medic took one look and said you have very dirty feet, I replied somthing about living on the side of a rainy hill in a tent for two weeks.

As he didn't seem interested I took to cutting it open on a pier and waashing it in the sea. it did the trick ok
