Okay. Guess you'll have plenty of time to meet us.

weather

I'm guessing now but I think its going to be reasonably rough with lots of waves to jump off and a lot of wind hitting us in the face going to Yarmouth. Maybe the IOW will protect us a little.
Down at the Needles might produce some very intersting and scary waves. Best have the elephant trunks down.
On the way back I'm hoping that we can make decent speed.

Good luck everyone and see you in the morning.

Cowes is intended to be a stop off point for bucks-fizz and coffee. (Was is the town quay we stopped at last year and didnt pay antyhing for?) If the weather is really dody we might give this a miss but that will be decided on the day. Any issues give me a txt or call on the day.

C u in the monr.........A slightly drunken timothy

Slightly drunken? Drunk enough that when you threatened to burn down my house if I let anyone steal your drink you forgot that you live here too!

Looks like it should be a good day tomorrow - weather notwithstanding. Fair old number of boats on the go.

Sorry folks. Crew has mutinied following squall half an hour ago that passed thru here. Good luck to everyone, hope there's more opportunities to get out in calmer weather before long.

Cheers

Ladies & Gents,

Bramblemet is showing gusts of up to Force 7 at present, and the inshore waters forecast is predicting gale force 8 for later.

Now, weather forecasts are not always accurate, and this is not an organised event, so the final judgement call is yours. I would suggest that if anybody attending the cruise has any doubts about the abilities of their crews, or their boat, they make the decision to can it now, rather than getting out there and finding it's too late.

Don't want to be a portent of doom, and I know that with the right boat and crew I would still be out there without a doubt, it's just worth thinking about not pushing a bad position! There will more than likely still be many of the boats mentioned above out there, so there will be some sort of gathering to join in, but I'm sure I'm right in saying nobody on that list would like anyone else to feel obligated to joining them.

Cheers guys & gals.

Jimbo

Just got in after meeting up with Biggles at Warsash, the wind was so strong my kids couldn't walk in a straight line and white horses in the Hamble River .

I wish everyone best of luck and hope the Sun at least shines and some enjoyment is had pounding across the waves.

Just Got Back

We took a fair pounding up until about Newtown, and almost gave up. Beyond Newtown was OK.

The return trip was good. It must be blowing a steady 7.

Just got home. What a cruise!! Some really crazy waves coming back past Portsmouth. Thanks very much to Nasher for the ride - we owe you a few drinks some time!
I've got some video which I'll put up shortly.
Tim
