Paul.....Worth applying some subtle pressure on Neil A as he's still hesitant, says he has to check his "social calendar" which means if his wife says no she means NO ! any way might be an ideal opportunity for him to try out his new electronic chart reader he's spent the counties money on at the boat show !!

Your more than welcome along anyhow as the more mechanics the better i feel :-)

Would not mind have a touchy-feely of that boat since i am planning a Scout expedition this summer using said boat and mine - a chat to Neil would also be good.

Hi Daniel

Think you'd probably find the county boat a little boring after the performance figures your getting from your Osprey, though have to say the boat is exceptionally well kitted out as a rescue boat and does exactly what they intended it to do, she'll only manage about 27/28 knots (in any sea state mind) and due to the two small 50's her pick up is a little slow, but her remit was as a safety boat not a long distance cruiser so performance wasn't a major issue.

Still rigged out all in black she is a pretty awsome looking boat !!

Richard

SE RIBSTERS

Just checked the bbc/weather site and weather looks ok for Saturday, this thread has been a bit quiet for some days now, been to Marbella and back with only one new thread. Phil Davies is in Germany, and hes back Friday, so will phone him when we get a meet time from Daniel.

Yer, i checked the weather aswell and it looks like a slight breeze and maybe some sunshine

I think i proposed a time of 1pm at southend earlier in the thread?

My iteniery is:

10-10:30 depart Ramsgate
11:30 rendevouz with Herne Bay clan (there are a couple of 'em, they can't launch any earlier)
1pm Southend Pier

I'll monitor Ch 77 (and 16), and my mobile as best i can. Callsign TOP BANANA. Richard have you got DSC? Dying to play with it!

I'll definately be at Southend Pier for 1pm if I dont't take Jason up on his offer of a ride on La Bamba. Good excuse to play with my EOS digital and zoom lens! I'll take a handheld VHF with me to monitor 77!
