I might be over in the west coast in Easter, so might be able to uplift then. I'd want to test it first for 24 hours to check. I repaired it with Polymarine 2-part glue a number of years ago, but no idea what condition its in. It's been stored in a dry barn/garage ever since.

This looks like the beginning of a great event that will carry on and on over the years.

Wish I had a bigger sib and engine

I'm probably going to regret asking this - but....

Does anyone have a dead short shaft 1972-ish Johnsorude 20 driveshaft / cooling pipe / exhaust tube lying in a box somewhere to loose 6" off the length of my oldest museum piece?

Joking aside- I'm seeing a lot of 4-ish M / 20-ish HP combos being posted. I could borrow an OMC Express 3.2 with an 8 on the back - and borrowing the dinghy is likely going to be the best (read: easiest!) option..... but I asusme we are realistically looking at 20-ish Knots cruising speed?

9d - we are looking at whatever speed works for the WHOLE group. In my experience 20 knots is closer to flat out ideal conditions rather than cruising speed.

Thing is that particular dinghy isn't quite the right size for my leg length to wedge myself in comfortably in anything other than a flat calm whatever speed we do or engine it has on the transom - and as I have the 20 sitting there looking for a generically slightly bigger hull to hang from..... (unless anyone has 100 spare and wants a restoration project )

Whatever happens - I'll figure something out!

Ach..I confess again..I put a cross on a piece of paper not so long ago..saying I didn't mind you guys from Englandshire

So to show it wasn't just a meaningless mark ...

Im sure you could fit in my SIB if you so wanted.. but you would have to bring your own tent... and be warned.. I will defend my tins of black gravy with my life

As for speed..Im with Poly..and will go as slow as the slowest tortoise .. even if it means displacement speeds ..it aint a race ..its an adventure
