Hey guys, an admirable undertaking but, before too many pledge on the Justgiving page, you may want to consider using Virgin Money Giving instead. JG's charges on donations are much higher than VMG, meaning less actually reaches the nominated charity. Also, with VMG you can nominate more than one charity (if you wish to) and specify the percentage split between those chosen (50/50 - 60/40 - 50/25/25 or any other combination).

Hi and thanks for the feedback I'm a great believer in keeping the ball rolling and the Justgiving page has already been created and people have already started to donate so I'm going to leave things as they are. Justgiving have a good rep and their fees page explains how it all works which I'm very comfortable with

I'd be interested in joining you guys. It would be good to do a slightly longer journey and good to have the company of other boats.

Both my parents suffered from the big C, and so it is a cause dear to my heart.

You may need to take a very large collection bucket as the 1st June is the Round the Island sailing race, so you will be joined by nearly 2000 rag and stick boats.

J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race - Dates of future races

We may be out to watch, but this year (2012) we walked to Hurst Castle with breakfast to watch them all fighting the tide.

That will be a great day for the RIB run with all yachts out, fantastic sight. They start about 0500 of Cowes. We will be working so wont be able to do charity run
about 1800 yachts, one of the largest races. And loads of support services out too.
