Apologies, I read that the date was set as the first weekend of August.

Mind you, the WEEK does go on for 9 days and thus covers two weekends. The third weekend is generally used for recovering.

Hi Guys

Don't even think about camping on Weymouth Beach!

We used to use any where along the Whitnose, Ringstead, Owermoigne to Durdle Door area. Plenty of places for a bbq and bed down. Many of the coves have no high water access from the land so are security ok for night times. Under teh fireing range at Lulworth can be entertaining!

Other options are the Aqua hotel at Porland or the Ferry Bridge Arms. Both have basic bed and breakfast and moorings - designed for divers. Crashing on the causeway has been done before by others but isn't the best place. The other option would be under one of the cliffs on Portland, there are a number of coves that get used by local canoe groups, Church Hope for instance.

Don't worry about me for a date. I'm tied in heavily with the fire service and dive club. Arrange what you can and if i can get there it's a result. If not I'll await your reports.

Andy

Neil,

As previously stated, I can make 1/2nd August (preferable) or prob the following weekend at a push. What is the consensus of those that want to go ? Is there an option to pitch up somewhere close even if its not on the beach ?
Mark

Is this idea going the way of the dinosaurs ( get it Jurrasic ????) - slowly giving up & ending up dead ?

Could it be resurected to be a 'head West to a beach or bay ( Chapmans Pool ?) , anchor/ raft up ,take a picnic and head home same day cruise' ?
